Hello There!
My name is Sara, and I am the creative cheapskate behind Frozen Pennies. I am a wife, mama, Financial Coach, and coffee lover. I am a huge fan of books, black yoga pants, and organization. My husband says I am “tighter than bark to a tree.”
But…we have paid off more than $100,000 in debt and I will teach you how to do the same!
The Two Cents You Don’t Need.
I find it amusing when I hear advice from broke people. If you have a mountain of debt, you are BROKE!!! Why would I take advice from someone who has more money going out than coming in???
Why not take advice from people who are successful with money – who are winning with money instead of suffocating under all that debt? I teach people how to win with money!
Less than one-third of the American population has a budget. That means that over 65% of people are living a life with no idea where their money is going and what their financial future looks like. Are you in this statistic?
Moms deserve to feel confident with their money and be able to spend it on what they value most. They deserve to have the lives that work for them and their families.
You can be responsible for your family’s money in a way that works for you. I can show you how.

My Whole Story.
Growing up, my mom taught me to be frugal. I come from a long line of frugal women. My mom was the Queen of Frugal! She had a massive box of coupons, and canned overstock from a huge garden like our lives depended on it.
One of our favorite hobbies was to shop at thrift stores, rummage sales, and garage sales for clothes. We used to find the most amazing pieces for so CHEAP!!!
I went to college on a full Student Loan ride, putting myself into too much debt for everything from tuition to food and living expenses and adding on credit cards to all my favorite stores because they offered!
I was married at 24 and had my oldest son at 25. He was born with some Special Needs which kind of threw a stick in our spokes. Deciding to be a stay at home mom to care for him and my second son (who came two and a half years later) meant corners had to be cut, drawstrings had to be pulled tight, and I had to get in touch again with my inner penny pincher.
Twenty years later, all that student loan debt is gone ($26,000 ish), our house is paid off, and we are ready to embrace this next season of life.
Frozen Pennies is a way to share with others the lessons life has taught me in hopes to give you the gift of dreaming – dreaming about all the fantastic things you could do without the weight of debt on your shoulders.
How Frozen Pennies Started.
Christmas 2017, my niece Cindy was visiting telling me about a challenge she was wrapping up. For an entire year, she didn’t buy any new clothes! I was so intrigued; I decided to do it too!
As I got started creating the rules for myself, I found this information was too relevant not to share, so I started blogging about it.
And Frozen Pennies was born. Since that very first post, it has transformed into what it is today – a place where information is shared to create a debt-free life by saving money, budgeting, and being frugal.
I share all things related to finances from organization to groceries to shopping. I choose to be intentional with our family’s money in a way that will fulfill our goals in life, creating our legacy. And I want to show you how to do the same!
